New Orleans-Style Coffee and Beignet Coming to PJ’s of Linwood, NJ
Ever heard of PJ's Coffee? Let us introduce you, because one is coming very soon to Linwood, New Jersey.
Coffee...mmm. You can never have too much of a good thing.
The original PJ's Coffee shop was founded 45 years ago in New Orleans, Louisiana. Since then, PJ's has branched out with locations across the country.
New Orleans-style coffee has unique origin in that was once made from chicory root. Now, its described as a roast with a richer, nuttier flavor.
For a black coffee drinker like me, that sounds delicious.
PJ's Coffee is coming to Atlantic County. Soon, they'll open a shop at Cornerstone Commerce Center off New Road in Linwood, just across from Mainland High School.
Locally, PJ's Coffee has some competition in Barista's Coffee House and Jessie's of Linwood, but all craft their own style of coffee beverages and food.
For instance, PJ's Coffee will reportedly not serve sit-down breakfast, but will be more of a grab-and-go spot serving breakfast pastries and lunch sandwiches, AND beignet!
PJ's is native to New Orleans, so of COURSE they'd offer beignet! Oh, how I can't WAIT to get my hands on those fluffy, doughy, fried treats, powdered sugar and all.
According to franchise owner Wayne, the beignet will be smaller, bite-sized versions of the classic.
I was recently treated to a peek inside PJ's Coffee of Linwood and the interior is sophisticated and modern while being minimalistic, classic, and very approachable.
The baristas-in-training are reportedly in the process of learning how to make the signature PJ's coffee drinks, and the Linwood store is eyeing a late October/early November opening.
