Lightning Strike Causes Power Outages and Car Fires in Ocean City

People in South Jersey were in for quite the storm Tuesday night.

In Ocean City, a bolt of lightning hit a utility pole that caused wires to come down on a car which caught on fire 11 p.m. Tuesday night.

It happened at 27th Street near Asbury Avenue in Ocean City. Because of the down utility pole around 15 electric customers lost power.

There was a second car that was also damaged during the incident.

According to officials, no injuries have been reported at this time.
