Have Camila Cabello + Fifth Harmony *Finally* Buried the Hatchet?
Tiffany Haddish may have tried to drive a bigger wedge between Camila Cabello and her former fellow Fifth Harmony members at Monday night's (August 20) MTV Video Music Awards, but have the ladies actually finally buried the hatchet?
During an interview with Access Hollywood on the red carpet before the show, Cabello — who eventually wound up winning Artist of the Year and Video of the Year honors for her massive hit "Havana" — said she and the ladies of 5H are actually on good terms, which...likely none of her fans expected after months of mutual hostility.
“I feel like we’re in a really good place right now, me & the girls. I saw Normani at the Billboard Awards and we just caught up. I told her I’m super excited for her. I don't remember the last time I've seen the other girls, but I told her to say the same thing to them — there's just been enough time and distance away from the situation that I feel like we're all genuinely in a good place right now. Honestly, there's no time in life for that stuff,” she said. "The internet can be such a toxic place because people love drama and people thrive off of it."
And fans of Cabello and 5H were thrilled to see the ladies put any bad blood behind them.
"The Artist of the Year with Video of the Year is SO classy. We stan," one wrote, while another noted "Classy as always thats why her good KARMA snapped to her big time. Congrats Mila!! You deserve it!! Grammy's next"
Cabello officially quit Fifth Harmony in December 2016, leading to some heated exchanges between her and her fellow former members, who accused Cabello of being deceitful about her means of departure. And, in March, the group's remaining four members announced they were going on an indefinite hiatus.
