Help! Is This Fingerling Authentic?

This weird monkey thing, is a Fingerling, and is one of the hottest toys this holiday season. But, there is a problem.

I was showing this "Fingerling" to a couple of people and they said that THIS IS NOT an authentic Fingerling!

I bought it on Ebay and paid $30 for it - closer to $40 after S&H. Thoughts?
