Falling Tree Kills Head of NJ Cancer Society
Stacey Weathers was killed over the weekend in Colts Neck when a falling tree crushed her convertible.
46-year old Weathers, of Tinton Falls, was alone in her vehicle around 4:25 p.m. Saturday when the accident occurred along southbound Route 34.
Colts Neck Police still don't know what caused the tree to fall and the accident remains under investigation.
Friends and colleagues tell 6abc.com Weathers' death is a huge loss for people with blood cancer. She acted as head of New Jersey's chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and reportedly helped raise $7 million to support patients and fund research.
