The Garden State Parkway was shut down from exits 36-38 yesterday due to a horrific crash.

The name of the woman who had deceased has now been identified as 38 year Egg Harbor Township resident Dawn Gonzalez.

According to the Press of Atlantic City, Gonzalez was 'driving in the center northbound lane of the Garden State Parkway near milemarker 38 when her Honda stopped, State Police said.

Thomas Zerbo, 22, of Ocean City, was traveling behind her and crashed into the Honda before spinning off to the left side of the roadway. The impact of the crash pushed the rear axle of Gonzalez’s Honda into her gas tank, which police believe led to the fire.'

Thomas Zerbo was later taken to AtlanticCare's Mainland campus with non-life-threatening injuries.

No charges have been filed at this time, and the accident is still under investigation.
