Point Pleasant Beach police say 24-year-old Zuzana Oravcova, from Slovakia, was reported missing around 2:25 a.m. yesterday morning.
Oravoca was swimming with a male friend in the ocean when they both began to experience difficulty. The male friend was able to make it back to shore--Oravcoca was not.
Officials say the 23-year-old man, also from Slovakia, sought help once he made it to shore.
Once the Coast Guard was notified about the disappearance, they flew from Air Station Atlantic city and launched a Lifeboat crew from Manasquan Inlet Station.
The search was called off a little before 10 p.m. Sunday night, once the Coast Guard located and identified the body.
The National Weather Service has issued a warning about dangerous rip currents along the Jersey Shore and shall remain in effect until Monday.
