One of my New Year's resolutions, like many of you, is to eat healthier. But I refuse to give up butter. Candy and soda, maybe. But not butter. Lucky for me I stumbled upon a technique called 'bottom buttering' which helps cut calories.

It sounds strange but, according to Health magazine, if you’re looking to lower your calorie intake, just look to the bottom side of your breakfast foods.

Buttering the bottom of toast and salting the bottom of hash browns has been shown to assist in weight loss.

Reportedly, when you eat  this way, the flavor hits your tongue right away, allowing you  taste more of it and cutting out at least half the belly-bloating that comes from salt and butter intake.
