Bob’s Clothing Retailer Going Out of Business, Closing Freehold, NJ Store
It's bad news for lovers of Bob's Stores. They're all closing because the company is going out of business. We tell you why.
Bob's Clothing Retailer Calling It Quits After 70 Years
Bob's specialized in apparel geared for shoppers who enjoy an active lifestyle. The clothing stores carried items for the fitness inspired, outdoor lovers, and sports fanatics.
You could find workout wear, sneakers, shorts and T-shirts, and even merchandise representing your favorite professional sports team.
Bob's Stores had a good run, maintaining locations in six states along the Northeast, including in New Jersey.
But midway through June, Bob's filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, according to retaildive.com, in spite of generating more than $131 million in revenue in 2023.
All Bob's Stores in New Jersey Closing
Unable to secure financing in enough time, Bob's parent company GoDigital Media Group, announced last week the sad but necessary decision to liquidate and close all 21 remaining stores, right down to the clothing fixtures.
In a statement, Bob’s Stores said, “We regret that our financial position necessitated the liquidation of Bob’s Stores. Bob’s has been a stalwart of our local communities for nearly 70 years, and we know our customers remember us as having been there for major moments in their lives.” Barton also thanked the company’s “vendors, suppliers, customers and employees for all of their support over the years.”
Bob's Stores in Freehold, New Jersey to Close for Good
Bob's had just one location still operating in New Jersey inside the Freehold Raceway Mall in Freehold. 'Going Out of Business' sales are already in progress at the store, but you better hurray if you want to take advantage of deals on what's left of Bob's inventory.
Don't worry. Bob's Discount Furniture stores are just fine and are not affiliated with Bob's Stores.
