Winslow Township, NJ Fire Department Undergoing Restructuring, Realignment
According to Winslow Twp. Fire Chief Marc S. Rigberg three of the township's fire stations will now operate out on one large firehouse.
Unfortunately, Chief Rigberg elaborates, volunteerism is down and the number of volunteer firefighters with Winslow Fire Department stands at just 35. There were once reportedly one hundred forty.
Chief Rigberg assures his community the restructuring has nothing to do with the quality of the current volunteers, there just aren't enough of them and, ultimately, the decision comes down to the safety of the township residents they serve.
