Blackwood, NJ Pizza Place Transforming into Seafood Restaurant
If you live in the Blackwood, Camden County area, and seafood is your thing, you'll like what's coming to the former Big Cheez pizza joint on Blackwood-Clementon Road.
The team behind two other popular South Jersey seafood spots, Boiling House Restaurant in Cherry Hill and Boiling House of Deptford, is opening Shrimple Seafood Restaurant and Market, according to 42freeway.com, and the establishment will reportedly operate with a full liquor license.
Shrimple is currently under development, taking over Big Cheez across from Highland Regional High School. And, if you're someone who loves a good Cajun seafood boil, it sounds like Shrimple's going to cater to you, 42freeway.com reports.
So let’s talk about Blackwood’s upcoming Shrimple restaurant.
Chipotle Could Be Taking Over Vacant Denny's in Blackwood
But in contrast to the Boiling House's large family-style seafood boil pots, Shrimple will reportedly be a traditional “order your own meal” seafood restaurant, with the same care going into every dish as Boiling House. The Shrimple menu will reportedly offer a ton of variety.
Now, Big Cheez had a huge brick pizza oven, and it would be a shame for that to go to waste. Luckily, the owners of Shrimple tell 42freeway.com they plan to keep the brick oven and use it to create unique seafood dishes.
Shrimple Seafood Restaurant and Market will be a welcomed addition to Blackwood-Clementon Road, given how many restaurants have closed along the road in recent years. Friendly's, Stone Grill, Nifty's Fifty's, Pizza Hut, and Denny's just to name a few. Chipotle was rumored to be taking over the old Denny's, but my mom lives pretty close by, and there doesn't look to be any movement on that front.
We'll keep you posted as construction on Shrimple continues, but word is they plan to open in May.
