A 67-year-old Somers Point man was found dead in his home, and authorities say it was homicide.

Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner says Somers Point Police did a welfare check at a home on Chapman Avenue Monday night - and found the resident dead.

Tyner says  Somers Hickman, 67, was found dead and an autopsy revealed that the "pending cause of death was blunt force trauma."

An investigation is underway and authorities are looking for answers:
