The holidays get crazy with shopping for gifts, organizing who is coming over this year, and getting all the decorations out of storage and up for all to see.  So when is the right time to do this?

This year it seems most in South Jersey have gotten an early jump on things.  The Press of Atlantic City reports that many local Christmas tree sellers are reporting an uptrend in sales for this season already — partly due to the early Thanksgiving (Nov. 22) and because residents are eager to put the events of the past month behind them and focus on something fun and special.

There is always the debate of a Real Tree vs. Fake Tree for Xmas, but will hold that debate for another time.  Let's think if there is an ideal time to put up your decorations.

Some people may be traditionalists in that they have to do all their decoration the same time every year.  My mother is one of those people who has to have all her decorations (about 30 large tubs of stuff) taken down and out by the end of Thanksgiving weekend - that's her thing and that's how we grew up.

Things change for me as I have gotten older.  The last several years with my girlfriend we would get a real tree (I grew up with the fake kind), buy it at a place to benefit local charity,  decorate while Xmas music is being played, then dread putting up a huge wreath on top of the house (not a sturdy roof to stand on).

There is no right or wrong way to decorate, but I ask again is there a right time?

This weekend's weather looks like around 60 degrees, so it may be perfect to get yourself set (if you are not already).

Feel free to chime in and let us know on Facebook if you are decked out yet, or about to, or even waiting to the day before.
