An accident in Gloucester Township Sunday night injured two people, one of them critically.

The crash reportedly happened around 7 p.m. on Black Horse Pike (Route 168) in Blackwood, according to Patch.com.

Two cars were both driving southbound when the collided with each other in the area between Brewer Lane and Oak Avenue not far from the Route 42 overpass, causing one vehicle to overturn.

The driver and the passenger of that car were trapped beneath it, Patch.com reports. Both were taken to Cooper University Hospital for treatment, with the passenger being transported by helicopter with critical injuries. She is said to be in stable condition now. The driver of the other vehicle was unharmed.

Authorities closed the Black Horse Pike at Brewer and Oak Ave. for a few hours to process the scene. An investigation into what caused the accident is ongoing.
