5 Things to Do with Jersey Peaches This Month
We wait all year for Jersey Fresh peaches, and now they're finally in season! Here are some tasty ways to enjoy them this month.
Throughout August, I roam fruit stands and farmers markets looking for the freshest, sweetest Jersey peaches to feed myself. I work them into as many dishes as I can. Side note, I especially love taking a ride to Royale Crown in Hammonton to treat myself to their homemade Jersey peach soft serve ice cream.

Slice Them into a Salad
The salad I make most during August is my Sliced Peach Balsamic Spinach Salad. I toss spinach and kale in a balsamic vinaigrette, throw in some sliced almonds, dried cherries or cranberries, and Gorgonzola cheese. Then, I thinly slice a peach and place on top.

Grill Them
Nothing brings out the sweetness of a Jersey peach like the grill. I slice them in half, keeping them away from the flames. Super yummy!
- 3
Bake Them
I love cubing up peaches, placing them into individual crocks, and loading on butter, cinnamon, brown sugar, and a drizzle of honey. I bake them and top with vanilla ice cream.

Blend Them
The shake I make pretty much every morning involves peaches. I blend half a peach and a whole banana with a scoop of chocolate protein powder, a shake of PB2 powered peanut butter, kefir yogurt, grated ginger, agave syrup, cinnamon, and lots of ice.

Freeze Them!
Jersey peaches only last so long. But I extend their lives by peeling them, slicing them, and placing them into freezer bags. They do well up to about 6 months in my freezer.
