    Never Hit the Dreaded Snooze Button

    I know this could be a very hard habit to break, but hitting the snooze button actually makes you sleepier. Don't keep your alarm clock or smartphone right next to you. Being forced to get up and shut your alarm off could be a good thing.

    Don't Check Emails

    It may be a good idea to wait until you get to work before you check any work related email. Your already rough morning can become even rougher by checking unanswered work related emails.

    Don't Shower in the Morning

    I'm not sure I totally agree with this one, but taking a hot steamy shower slows down your heart rate and actually relaxes your muscles. You may want to take a shower with lukewarm water if the idea of not showering first thing in the morning doesn't appeal to you.

    Don't Dig Through Your Closet

    Get your outfit ready and do all ironing the night before. My wife is a big help to me when it comes to this tip. I look like a wrinkled mess when she doesn't get my outfit ready for me.

    Give Yourself More Time

    This is my number one problem getting ready for the workday. I leave my house with just enough time to make into work. I'm toast if their are any delays or construction on the Parkway. Try and always give yourself a little extra time to make up for any mishaps you may encounter on your morning commute.
