It's cold as ice outside today.  Maybe colder.  All the more reason to stay inside and cozy up on the couch.  Here are five of my favorite iciest movies.

1.  The Ice Storm, starring Elijah Wood, Christina Ricci, Tobey Maguire and Kevin Kline (1997)

1973, suburban Connecticut: middle class families experimenting with casual sex, drink, etc., find their lives out of control.

2.  Ice Castles, starring Lynn-Holly Johnson, Robby Benson (1978)

A young girl is on top of the world until a tragic accident dashes her hopes and dreams of becoming a world-class figure skater. Only with the help of those who love her can she prove to the world -- and herself -- that she still has the potential to realize her dreams.

3.  Ice Age, starring Denis Leary, Ray Romano (2002)

Set during the Ice Age, a sabertooth tiger, a sloth, and a wooly mammoth find a lost human infant, and they try to return him to his tribe.

4.  The Iceman, starring Michael Shannon, Chris Evans, James Franco (2012)

The true story of Richard Kuklinski, the notorious contract killer and family man. When finally arrested in 1986, neither his wife nor daughters have any clue about his real profession.

5.  Ice Princess, starring Kim Cattrall and Michelle Trachtenberg (2005)

With the help of her coach, her parents, and the boy who drives the Zamboni machine, nothing can stop Casey (Trachtenberg) from realizing her dream to be a champion figure skater.
