A 16-year-old Egg Harbor Township boy is dead, the victim of a gunshot wound to the head. Authorities say a 17-year-old EHT teen pulled the trigger.

Atlantic County Prosectutor Damon Tyner says the incident took place Friday.

At 6:19pm, Egg Harbor Township Police received a 911 call from 22 Woodrow Avenue about a child falling down stairs.  Police say as the call continued, another person got on the phone and said there was a shooting.

Tyner says police responded and found a 16-year-old dead from an apparent gunshot wound. An autopsy on Saturday confirmed the cause of death.

Tyner says:

"A male juvenile is charged with Aggravated Manslaughter and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose in connection to the death of the juvenile.

The juvenile is being held in custody at the Harborfields Youth Detention Facility. Chief Assistant Prosecutor Seth Levy represents the state in the matter. No other information will be available at this time."
