A South Jersey school is getting national recognition! Is it because of Academics? Sports? How about simply because of it's character.

The Petway Elementary School in Vineland has been designated as the national school of character.  Petway was one of 41 schools in the entire country that received this honor.

According to NBC 40, 'Schools of Character are schools and districts that have demonstrated, through a rigorous evaluation process, that character development has had a positive impact on academics, student behavior, and school climate.'

Teachers and students celebrated by having a end of the school year party, and gave speeches on the "Pathway to Patriot Pride," which is their motto for excellence and character development.  The school will have the distinction of 'National School of Character' for the next five years.
