Local Kids Receive Shopping Spree Courtesy of the Atlantic County Police Department

Thanks to the Atlantic County Police Department, Christmas came a little early for more than 100 exciting kids.

This past Saturday, children anxiously waited for police officers and sheriffs across Atlantic County to arrive at a Walmart parking lot in Hamilton Township.  'Shop with a Cop' gives needy a families and their kids a chance to finish their Christmas shopping by giving them a 100 dollar Walmart gift card, and shop with uniformed authorities.

Atlantic County Sherrif Frank Balles told NBC 40, 'It's about giving and the message is the police officers are your friends and we're here to help you. It's year round.'

While needy families and their kids are certainly grateful, local police are hoping to create a bond with these kids that can only leave a positive impression.
