Body of Missing Swimmer Found in Wildwood

The search for a  missing swimmer reported in Wildwood Crest over the weekend ended in tragedy...

Officials say that 24-year-old Christian Alfred was swimming after hours and unsupervised near Rio Grande Ave Saturday night with four of his friends.   He apparently struggled later, and failed to resurface.

Alfred was a Miami native, and was going to school in New York.

His body was found late yesterday morning in shallow water.

"The Coast Guard cannot stress enough the importance of being safe while in the water, always swim in a well supervised area," says Petty Officer Nick Ameen of the US Coast Guard.  (NBC 40)
