Woman Killed in Weekend Crash on Atlantic City Expressway
A beautiful day turned traffic when an accident on the Atlantic City Expressway Saturday afternoon killed a woman and seriously injured a man.
The crash reportedly happened just beyond Exit 41 in Winslow, Camden County just after 4:30 p.m. Saturday, according to NJ.com.
A man and a woman travelling westbound in a Honda Civic were both ejected from the vehicle around mile marker 43, Press of Atlantic City reports. There were no other occupants in the Honda and no other cars involved in the accident, which is still being investigated by the State Police Fatal Accident Investigation Unit.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden with serious injuries. They're identities are unknown.
The AC Expressway was closed for a time (up to Exit 44/Sicklerville) as First Responders processed the scene, causing a traffic backup.
Our thoughts are with the victim and her family and for the recovery of the male occupant.
