Woman Hit by Car After Running from Police in Maple Shade

33-year-old Danielle Colon was trying to escape police custody Friday night when she was hit by a car.

It happened on Route 73 near Stony Run Apartments.

The Camden woman managed to break out of the patrol car she had been placed in. She reportedly took off and was struck in the southbound lanes, according to 6abc.com. She suffered a broken leg, but was treated and released from Cooper Hospital.

Colon now faces multiple charges, including resisting arrest, escape and obstruction.
