Smiling in YOUR driver's photo? Enjoy it while you can because soon grinning images will not be permitted on New Jersey licenses.

This policy has actually been in effect since the beginning of the year, where N.J. banned smiling for your license photo because "such expressions do not work with the facial recognition software".

What brought this smile issue to light recently was reported by The Press of Atlantic City, as they picked up on the story of Velevt McNeil of Sicklerville.  McNeil was apparently very upset when she was told not to smile for the camera at the Cherry Hill DMV.  The 38-yr-old is going to go back and get the picture with a "slight smile".
