Chic, Invitation-Only White Party Returning to Atlantic City, NJ for Third Summer
Did you miss the ultra-exclusive Le Dîner en Blanc when it returned Atlantic City last summer? It's coming back for a third year.
I finally got an invitation to attend last summer, and it was so much fun. I'm glad I could check it off my bucket list because I always wanted to go. Partygoers were ALL into the white theme and came stocked with white table clothes and linens. I even saw someone rig up a mini-chandelier and candelabra! Tables were decorated with seashells, candles, and other tablescapes.
What is Le Diner en Blanc?
These invitation-only, posh white parties have been going on in Paris, France since the late 1980s and celebrities like Michael Rubin have been throwing them in NY's Hamptons for years. Atlantic City's first ever Le Dîner en Blanc has gone SO well in its first two years, entertaining nearly 5,000 diners, its hosting another one.
In 2022 and 2023 the event featured multiple bands, DJs, and roaming performers, and there's bound to be more of the same this year.
Also, the dinner is essentially ALL BYO. Last summer, many of Atlantic City's premier dining establishments offered take-away baskets to take to the picnic to make it more convenient.
How to Get Invited to Atlantic City's Secret Le Diner en Blanc
For 2024, there's a new hosting team: Claudine Archer and Cynthia Johnson. But getting an invitation to attend this chic outdoor picnic might not be so easy. Demand for a ticket is expected to be high, as well it should be! You'll need to head to the party's official website to be added to a waiting list. But it'll be worth it just for a chance to hit what will certainly be the summer season's most-buzzed about event.
When is the Next White Party in Atlantic City?
Most details right now are very hush-hush, but we do know the party is slated for Saturday, September 7th. However, Le Dîner en Blanc's location has yet to be revealed. It is a 'secret' party, after all.
Le Dîner en Blanc is more than an event. It 'joins mystery, friendship, culture, and entertainment together to create a magical experience that is as visually stunning as it is indescribable'.
If you're DYING to get onto the GUEST LIST this year, be ready to follow the rules and "dress elegantly in head-to-toe white". No ivory, no off-white, and no beige. Originality is always encouraged, as long as it stays stylish and tasteful. There's often an honor for best-dressed, too.
