Watch Ocean City NJ Man Surf the Wake of the Cape May Lewes Ferry

When the waves don't come to you, you've got to go to the waves.

That sounds like some sort of surfer mantra, right? Well, I just kind of made it up.

It does go perfectly with this story of professional surfer Rob Kelly and how he found a wave in an unlikely place - next to one of the ferry boats that hauls passengers and vehicles for the Cape May Lewes Ferry.

In case you don't know, Kelly grew up spending weekends in Ocean City as a kid and has literally surfed all around the world.

Kelly has a YouTube channel - NumbSkulls - that features lot of videos of him surfing the New Jersey Coast and more.

Last Friday, Kelly was doing some surfing in the area when he decided to go catch one of the boats for the Cape May Ferry. He drove down, hopped in the water, and for a couple of minutes, surfed the wake of the ferry boat.

Maybe next time the ferry captain can pick up the speed a little?
