Washington Township Cops Search for Driver Who Hit Cyclist, Fled the Scene
Cops in Washington Township, Gloucester County, are asking for your helping finding the driver of a Jeep who allegedly hit a cyclist Sunday afternoon and then fled the scene.
According to the Washington Township Police Department, officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash involving a cyclist on Delsea Drive just before 4:00 Sunday afternoon.
They say,
The preliminary investigation reveals a dark colored Jeep made a left turn from Delsea Drive into the parking lot of Heritages, striking the cyclist on Delsea Drive. After impact the Jeep turned around in the parking lot and fled north on Delsea Drive. As a result of the impact, the cyclist was transported to Jefferson Hospital.
Police say the vehicle is described as a dark colored Jeep with front end damage, possibly with windshield damage. The vehicle also has a bike rack on the back with a black bike. A partial NJ license plate was given with the last three characters of "LPA." The vehicle was driven by a white male, approximately 40 to 50 years old.
