Was That an Earthquake in South Jersey on Thursday?
Did you feel it?
A lot of people have been reporting that they experienced what felt like a minor earthquake Thursday afternoon in South Jersey.
But no earthquake has been reported by any official source.
In the past, suspected earthquakes in New Jersey have turned out to be the results of sonic booms from military aircraft.
New Jersey 101.5 Meteorologist Dan Zarrow has been inundated with reports from people who say they felt something. From Cape May County to Toms River in Ocean County to Southampton in Burlington County — and even as north as Hunterdon County.
Some people said they felt the ground or the floors in their buildings move. Some heard rumbling sounds.
Zarrow says people who felt the ground shake should report it to the U.S. Geological Survey's online Did You Feel It program.
