A microearthquake has been recorded off of the coast of Brigantine Saturday morning. At approximately 5:20 AM the United States Geological Society recorded the 2.0 magnitude quake. The earthquake occurred about 37 miles off the coast.

According to an article by WHYY, "A microearthquake, classified as a very low-intensity seismic event at 2.0 magnitude or less, is rarely felt."

This is the second earthquake in New Jersey this year, the first being in Clifton this past April. The April earthquake was also a microearthquake being recorded at a 1.8 magnitude.

There was no reported damage from this morning's quake.
