A 46-foot sailboat caught fire three miles off the coast just before 11:00AM Sunday.

Visitors on 39th street beach in Ocean City noticed the black smoke from a distance.  Tweets and Facebook posts with pictures of the black smoke along with the question 'what's burning in Ocean City?' filled the local news feeds.

According to 6ABC, 'A Good Samaritan radioed for help while the three on-board jumped on a dinghy stocked with life vests.' The Coast Guard arrived at the scene and rescued two people on the boat as well as their dog. Fortunately, nobody was injured, but the boat sunk and everything in it was lost.
