Early Thursday morning a train collided with a car in Lindenwold, leaving one person dead.

The collision happened at around 11:45 a.m. at the Maple and Carlton intersection, police say. The Atlantic City Rail Line service has since been suspended between Atlantic City and Cherry Hill.

NJ Transit is saying there were no passengers on board at the time and that the train was heading west at the time of the crash.

Officials have not released any information yet on the one person who was killed in the crash.

The details of how the collision happened are still under investigation.
