Toddler Grabs for Hot Coffee Cup, Parents Sue South Jersey Diner
A 19-month-old boy grabbed for a cup full of hot coffee, which spilled on him. Now the parents are suing the diner for putting the hot beverage too close to their toddler.
A lawsuit filed by the child's mother, Lindsay Boardly of Pennsauken, seeks unspecified damages from Amy's Omelette House in Cherry Hill to cover large medical bills. Boardly claims her was treated for serious burns, scars, and nerve damage after the August 2016 accident.
The suit blames the waitress for pouring coffee into a cup that was within reach of her son Landon, reports Courier Post. But the restaurant allegedly has video footage showing it was the customer who placed the cup there, the waitress simply filled it.
