The Most Massive Pumpkin In America Breaks Records
Oh. My. Gord. Now that’s a big pumpkin!
Fall is a favorite for a reason, we've got football back, our coziest sweaters, and the best candles ever. I love the family-fun that comes along with pumpkin picking at your local pumpkin patch. However, there are some pumpkins that I guarantee you won't be able to pick or even lift off the ground.
So how big can a pumpkin actually get? I’m not even kidding when I tell you this guy grew the great pumpkin on steroids. This thing is literally over a TON! Scott Andrusz of Williamsville, New York just broke a national record when his gord clocked in at 2,554 pounds. That's not a type-o, I actually meant to type 2,554 pounds. Whoa, mama.
That big boy beat the current record of 2,528 pounds but was just shy of the Guinness World Record of 2,702 pounds out of Italy in 2021.
There could be a rival on the way out of Minnesota but I have to tell you, I think it is cheating. Travis Gienger of Anoka, MN got a seed from the pumpkin in Italy and used it to grow his own monster. Is that allowed?
We’ll find out on Oct. 10th when his pumpkin gets weighed at the Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off in California on October 10th. What do you think, is he a cheater, cheater pumpkin eater???
If you want to pick more than pumpkins, these are the best orchards in New Jersey.
