Many employees in New Jersey working for minimum wage will soon see a bump in their paychecks.

If the hike in the minimum wage is going to affect property taxes, one of the first places it could show up is in the school budgets approved this spring.

Workers in New Jersey making minimum wage can expect a slight increase in pay come 2019.

"Some families actually rely on their children as the breadwinners," said Fiona Joseph, 17, of Elizabeth. "Some people that I know — they work to pay the bills."

New Jersey residents on Tuesday approved raising the state's minimum wage by $1, to $8.25 an hour, and to provide for automatic cost-of-living increases as 10 other states already do.

We all try to look to make more money in this economy, and New Jersey may (or may not) provide some help in a raise of the state's minimum wage.
