Jonathan Liano thought he was meeting a 14-year-old girl, but instead encountered an undercover detective.

The 5th grade Berlin Township school teacher had reportedly been communicating online with what he thought was a teenager. When he drove to Pennsauken Friday to meet her, police were waiting for him.

38-year-old Liano, of Winslow, has been placed on administrative leave from Dwight D. Eisenhower Middle School pending further investigation, Courier Post reports.

Winslow Township High-Tech Crimes Unit got wind that Liano had exchanging explicit messages with a teenager that he allegedly initiated. Camden County Prosecutor's Office reports their inquiry into Liano's motives began the first day of the new school year in Berlin.

Liano was arrested and charged with second-degree luring, sending obscene material to a minor, attempted criminal sexual contact and attempted sexual assault with a minor.
