14-year-old Jermire Lowery is the second Vineland High School student to die in a motor vehicle-related accident in less than two weeks.  The freshman was one of five teens in a car driven by a 17-year-old friend who lost control Monday.

The Chevy Malibu in question struck a parked truck at the intersection of Almond and Mill road in Vineland, according to PressofAtlanticCity.com. The other passengers were treated at Inspira Medical Center Vineland for non-life-threatening injuries, but Lowery's injuries were too severe. He was pronounced dead shortly before 8 p.m. Monday night.

The 17-year-old, who has yet to be identified, was driving on a probationary license, according to Sgt. Peter D’Arrigo of the Vineland Police Department.

Students at Vineland High School North are still mourning the Oct. 30 death of 14-year-old Alexa Strittmatter, who was hit by several cars while waiting for her school bus.
