South Jersey Native Wins Worst Supporting Actress Award

Many Garden Staters have won Academy Awards, but it's not often someone from South Jersey picks up a Golden Raspberry.

White House Advisor Kellyanne Conway, born in Atco, has a new trophy for her shelf, according to The Hollywood Reporter. On Saturday night, the Razzie Awards named her Worst Supporting Actress for her appearance (as herself) in the 2018 documentary film Fahrenheit 11/9, directed by Michael Moore.

Conway beat out fellow nominees Marcia Gay Harden (Fifty Shades Freed), Kelly Preston (Gotti), Jaz Sinclair (Slender Man), and First Lady Melania Trump (Fahrenheit 11/9).

Fahrenheit 11/9 examines the current state of American politics, particularly the Donald Trump presidency and gun violence, while highlighting the power of grassroots democratic movements (IMDb).

The film Holmes & Watson, starring John C. Reilly and Will Ferrell, had the misfortune of receiving the Razzie for Worst Picture.
