Haddon Heights native, Lucas DeMenna, is ready for his cross-country trek across America after nine months of training.

The Virginia Tech sophomore will be riding along with his fraternity brothers of the Delta Alpha Chapter at Pi Kappa Phi to start their 4,000 miles journey, Courier Post reports.

The ride, 'Journey of Hope,' has been a tradition within the fraternity since 1987 and gives back to communities through grants to local organizations that serve people with disabilities. The brothers' ride will help spread the message of 'love and acceptance' for those who are living with disabilities.

DeMenna and his brother will begin their two month journey on the West Coast covering 32 states. The amazing part is that during their journey, they will stop in different states to lend a helping hand to the neighborhoods they are visiting.

In addition to his training, DeMenna has raised almost $4,700 to go to The Ability Experience Organization with the help of his community.

Truly inspiring story. Cannot wait to follow the boys on their journey on June 12.
