A historic moment in South Jersey was the subject of a question Thursday night on ABC's new game show, 'The Chase'.

I spent Thursday night hanging with my mom. First we watched 'Celebrity Wheel of Fortune', and then she wanted to stay tuned for 'The Chase'. 'The Chase' features Jeopardy!'s three greatest champions of all time: Ken Jennings, James Holzhauer, and Brad Rutter as the 'chasers'. One chosen 'chaser' challenges three contestants to a quiz round. Each contestant individually attempts to win money for their team by answering as many questions correctly as possible during a one-minute "Cash Builder" round. Then, that contestant participates in a head-to-head "chase" against the chaser.

It's one of the craziest quiz shows I've ever watched. The questions are much harder than those on 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire', and the pace is much faster than Jeopardy!. So, I'm hooked. Last night, the 'chaser', Brad Rutter bested the final contestant, but what caught my attention was a question that came up about Camden, New Jersey.

The question harkened back to the year 1933, when motorists were welcomed to visit the very first-ever drive-in movie theater, which was located in Camden. The contestant, Sarah, guessed correctly (even without a multiple choice, smart girl).

FYI, the idea for the drive-in movie theater was patented in Camden by Richard Hollingshead, according to Wikipedia. Pretty cool, right?

My mom, who grew up in the Collingswood/Pennsauken area as a kid, told me that first drive-in theater was located on Admiral Wilson Blvd in Pennsauken Twp.

Although Delsea Drive-In remains open in Millville, I wish there were still more in South Jersey, especially now.

'The Chase' airs Thursday night at 9 p.m. locally on 6abc.
