Would You Be Into Self-Checkout at Wawa? It’s Being Tested
It's happening at CVS. It's happening at Walmart...and Acme...and ShopRite. Self-checkout. Could it work at Wawa stores?
Reportedly, a couple of South Jersey Wawa's are playing around with DIY mode, according to NJ.com, and honestly, I'm surprised it's taken this long.
Yeah, Wawa is much more than a 'convenience' store, but it sure would make it more convenient to be able to scan and check out our own items.
Customers in Barrington, Camden County, and Marlton, Burlington County are already trying it out!
In a statement, Wawa says, "We have seen positive customer reaction to the self-checkout test, and we are now in the process of reviewing and refining our processes and plan to continue to add them to more stores.”
It probably won't be a service that's extended to cigarette buyers, but for those of us not in the market for smokes, self-checkout could make trips to Wawa a breeze.
I mean, I kind of still get a kick out of checking myself out at a store. It kind of goes back to playing 'supermarket' as a kid. Hey, don't judge. You've thought it, too. Lol.
What do you think about the experiment? Do you want to see self-checkout kiosks put in place at all Wawa stores? Let us know in the comment box below.
