Residents in New Jersey are Just Barely Happy, According to Study
A recent Gallup poll asked residents in every state how happy they are. Lets just say New Jersey has some cheering up to do.
The survey tested the well-being barometer of millions of Americans based on these five factors: 1) location, 2) finances, 3) daily life, 4) companionship, and 5) physical health, reports National Geographic. The stats were used to rank the states that leaned most and least happy.
A map of emoji-like smiley faces was created and it looks like on a scale of 1-5 (1 being the least happy, 5 being the happiest), New Jersey earned a 3. So, we're just sort of content?
Pennsylvania and Delaware seem to be only just as happy as New Jersey, landing right in the middle of pack.
The poll doesn't explain exactly why the happy people live where they do, or vice versa, but they do report poor health and limited financial means may be to blame for the lack of well-being in the unhappiest states.
