The Major League Baseball All-Star game will be returning to Philadelphia.  Bob Nightengale of USA Today reported this afternoon that the Phillies will be holding a press conference to announce that the All-Star game is coming to Philadelphia in 2026.  That will amount to a 30-year span between games in Philadelphia.

According to Matt Breen of the Philadelphia Inquirer, the announcement will come on Tuesday in a press conference at Independence Hall.  The year is significant to the City of Philadelphia and the Nation's history; 2026 will be the 250-year anniversary of the United States of America.

The All-Star game was also held in Philadelphia in 1976, the 200th anniversary of the nation's founding.

The Phillies most recently hosted the All-Star game in 1996 at Veterans Stadium.  Some teams will have hosted two games in the time between the Phillies hosting, but it makes sense for Philadelphia to hold off a couple seasons.  Meanwhile, the host cities for 2021 through 2025 have yet to be announced.

For those wondering, the 250th anniversary is called a sestercentennial.celebration.
