Boat Runs Aground on North Wildwood New Jersey Beach

It was an unusual scene on the North Wildwood beach Tuesday afternoon when a boat ran aground.

The incident happened around 12 p.m. at 13th Street beach in N. Wildwood, 6abc.com reports.

Naturally, beachgoers quickly surrounded the vessel for a glimpse of what was going on, and images of the situation quickly ended up on social media. It's not exactly something you see everyday.

Details are scarce about what caused to boat to reach such a position, or how many people were aboard at the time it ended up on the beach, but we'll continue to update you. We're hoping there are no injuries to anyone on the boat or the sand.

It's been an adventurous two days along the Jersey shore. On Monday, a small banner plane was forced to make an emergency landing on Ocean City's 9th Street bridge after the pilot experienced engine trouble. Thankfully, the plane landed safely and no one was injured.

To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here.
