North Wildwood Motel to Close This Summer Due to COVID-19 Concerns
It's hard to believe that even though we remain in lockdown across the Garden State, that the countdown to summer is on. There are less the 54 days until my all-time favorite season arrives. The summer of 2020 will be different from any other summer we've experienced due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Summer is also a time when the population skyrockets in shore towns up and down the Jersey coast. It's also when summer vacationers flock to their favorite hotels and motels for some relaxation.
There is one South Jersey motel that has already decided to close for the 2020 season due to pandemic concerns and the safety of their guests.
According to NJ.com and the Sandpiper Motel's Facebook page, the Sandpiper Motel located in North Wildwood will not open for the summer. This would've been the 19th season for the Sandpiper. The owners concern for the safety of their guests during these challenging times thanks to COVID-19 was the driving force to close for the summer.
The Sandpiper will open once again open for the 2021 summer season.
