The ordeal happened at the Brick Township municipal building located in Ocean County, according to a 6ABC.com report.

In the dramatic video you can clearly see EMT Katelyn Lammer start to choke on her food. Amazingly she kept her cool while alerting Sgt. Austin Kenny of the Brick Police Department that she was choking and couldn't breathe.

The video also shows Sgt. Kenny rushing to aid Lammer and knowing exactly what to do. The heroic officer starts to perform the Heimlich maneuver on Lammer and quite possibly saves her life.

What an awesome job by Sgt. Kenny! Watching this video has made me want to take a  CPR course again. CPR can seem very intimidating as a bystander, but knowing how to do it correctly could help save a life.

I took a CPR course a while back when my boys were small. My biggest fear was having them choke on something and I wouldn't know what to do. Now it's time for me to take a refresher CPR course as things slowly get back to some kind of new normal.

The American Red Cross does offer classes and can give you the skills needed to perform both CPR and First Aid.
