New Traffic Light on Ocean Heights Ave. in EHT Gets Turned-on Tuesday
A very busy intersection in the lower portion of Egg Harbor Township will officially become a lot safer Tuesday morning.
At 10:00 Tuesday morning, the new traffic signal at Ocean Heights Avenue and Blackman Road will officially go into service.
The nearly $776,000 project included the new signal, new sidewalks, better drainage, new turn lanes, curbs, and signs.
Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson said in a press release, "These roadway improvements will help protect the safety of our residents and visitors through this heavily traveled area. We greatly appreciated the public’s cooperation throughout construction and are pleased to bring this project to completion."
Egg Harbor Township Mayor Paul Hodson went on to say, "Our residents strongly advocated for a signal at this intersection and through this joint effort we were able to provide it."
Construction at that intersection began around Labor Day, according to The Press of Atlantic City.
