New Jersey Man Lies About Being Attacked By a Bear
A New Jersey man is facing charges after he allegedly lied to police about being attacked by a black bear.
News 12 New Jersey says Jeffrey Wilson called police on August 3rd to report he was attacked by a 500-pound black bear. The 'incident' reportedly happened while he fed his cats in his yard in Pohatcong, New Jersey.
So, of course the necessary procedures were taken and Wilson was treated for the cuts on his arm.
Soon after investigating, police and officials concluded, the injuries to Wilson's left arm were "non-related accident that happened the night before."
Now, Wilson is being charged with one count of providing false information to law enforcement, and will appear in court on Sept. 8.
My main question is why would he lie about a bear attack?
There appears to be no news yet why he lied, so perhaps we have to wait for the trial. Until then here is the statement police released on Facebook:
