The Absolute Best Places In New Jersey To Cut Down Your Own Christmas Tree
It's hard to believe that the holidays are upon us.
Thanksgiving is all of a week and a half away and before you know it, Christmas is knocking on our door.
What I really like about this time of the year though are the traditions.
For example, every year at Thanksgiving we have a butter sculpture shaped like a turkey.
It's store-bought, but either way, I look forward to seeing it every Thanksgiving even as an adult.
Christmas of course is chocked full of traditions!
Every year, we decorate the apartment with Christmas decorations and hang lights up on the house, those big C9 lights too!
Another fantastic tradition is cookie day; once a year my mom organizes the entire family to come together for one day and bake cookies for an entire day.
I end up eating more cookie dough than doing any baking, but it's still a fun tradition I look forward to.
There's another Christmas tradition that is also very important to me, more so than the lights, decorating, and cookie day.
Every year, without fail we have to get a tree.
I don't mean setting up an artificial tree or getting one of those pre-cut live trees either, I mean I have to go to a tree farm, and cut down my own Christmas tree.
It's something that my family has been doing since before I was born, and it's a tradition that I'm proud to carry on with my wife in our house.
If you've never cut down your own Christmas tree before, it's really a fun experience!
Plus, tree farms are always a blast to go to during Christmas time; a lot of them are dog friendly and have little Christmas shops where you can get wreaths and hot cider as well.
New Jersey is home to a ton of tree farms, and if you aren't sure which one to go to don't worry, I found the best of the best!
