A newly hired Egg Harbor Township Police Officer was able to put his recent training to use and save the life of a 13-year-old boy who was found unconscious in a local swimming pool.

Egg Harbor Township Police report that on Monday evening,  Cody Ng, a newly-hired off-duty police officer was alerted to the swimming pool in the Bargaintown section of the township by other juveniles who were yelling for help. Ng was able to pull the boy from the pool and apply CPR after not detecting any pulse nor respiration.  The boy regained consciousness and was taken to the hospital for additional treatment.

According to police,  "Ng is due to graduate from the academy this month and begin his duties as a patrol officer."
