It’s Time to Spill Your Cookie Recipe Secrets, South Jersey! It’s National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day
If you ask people what their favorite cookie is, we bet most will say chocolate chip. We could even bet they have someone they know who makes 'the best chocolate chip cookie ever.' This year, the chocolate chip cookie turns 80. On August 4, let's celebrate!
The history of the chocolate chip cookie is simple. Sometime in the 1930s, Ruth Wakefield created it, and now the rest of the world enjoys it. This cookie drew the attention of one Marjorie Husted. The public knows her better by her alias, Betty Crocker. She raved about it on her radio station. Soon after, Wakefield sold her recipe and the name Toll House to Nestle, and the rest, we know and enjoy.
On this day in August, break out your mixers, and go buy some chocolate chips. Take yourself back to baking in the kitchen with mom, and enjoy the final product of that amazing cookie we all love.
